Description
Marantz 6300 Turntable. Ortofon 2M Black. Exclusive version. Fully revitalized.
Marantz is a company founded by Saul Marantz in New York in 1953. In the 1960s, it was bought by Superscope Inc., and then began to produce in Japan, in partnership with Standard Radio Corp., which in 1975 changed its name to Marantz Japan. In 1980, Marantz was bought by Philips, and Marantz Japan and Denon merged to form D & M Holdings. In 2008, Philips sold its shares in D & M Holdings. In 2014, Marantz Professional was acquired by inMusic Brands, and D + M Holding has been owned by Sound United LLC since 2017. From the beginning of its existence, Marantz was defined as hi-end (high-end), or exclusive, high-quality hi-fi equipment. The company had a huge impact on the development of audio systems, and the greatest successes in the 1970s.
The Marantz 6300 turntable, which debuted in 1975, has been an icon among vinyl enthusiasts to this day. Thanks to its precise construction, high-quality components, and exceptional speed stability, this model offers sound reproduction at the highest level. The servo-controlled direct-drive motor ensures an incredibly smooth and stable operation, and the advanced speed control mechanism guarantees minimal wow & flutter values of 0.04%, resulting in even more accurate sound reproduction. The turntable is equipped with a platter with a diameter of 31 cm and a weight of 1.6 kg, which, thanks to its proper mass and balance, effectively dampens unwanted resonances. The signal-to-noise ratio of -60 dB indicates effective elimination of the device’s own noise and, above all, exceptional sound clarity. The Marantz 6300 features a precise “S”-shaped tonearm with an effective length of 231 mm, designed to minimize tracking distortion. The stylus pressure adjustment, from 0.5 to 4.0 g, enables wide compatibility with various cartridges, ensuring optimal sound performance. Thanks to all the solutions used in the Marantz 6300, this turntable has become synonymous with high-quality analog sound and remains one of the most highly valued models to this day.
The enclosure has been completely revitalized, made from rosewood. The wood finish is Chinese oil produced from natural oils and natural turpentine-based beeswax. All metal and wooden components, both externally and internally, have been cleaned and painted using the automotive wet painting technique. The device has been fully reviewed and serviced. The turntable is equipped with new feet.
