In 1953, Dr. Sydney Harman and Bernard Kardon, after having left David Bogen Company (which produced sound systems), founded Harman Kardon in the United States. A year later they created the world?s first hi-fi receiver, which combined an amplifier, preamplifier and tuner in one case. In 1958, the first Harman Kardon stereo receiver was made, and the company became involved in the production of\u00a0 two-channel audio equipment, while its competition encouraged consumers to buy two mono amplifiers. The beginning of the 60s marked the launch of the Citation 3 amplifier and a new technological solution – namely ultra-wide band.<\/p>\n

In 1969, Harman bought a well-known loudspeaker producer – JBL company. What is more, Harman Kardon set itself the goal of producing high quality equipment without any unnecessary “frills”, which was reflected in the series of 330 receivers produced in the years 1968-1979. However, after being appointed US Deputy Secretary of Trade, Harman had to sell the company, which was bought by Beatrice Foods for 100 million dollars.<\/p>\n

It was not until 1985 that the founder managed to buy back all companies that were part of Harman International before 1976. In the years 1999-2007 Harman Kardon focused on developing digital audio products by creating technologically advanced solutions. In 2017, 10 years after 88-year-old Herman retired, Samsung announced the takeover of Harman International for 8 billion dollars.<\/p>\n

The classic series of\u00a0 330 receivers (330, 330A, 330B and 330C) produced in the years 1968-1979 is the quintessence of the Harman Kardon design philosophy – basic, transistor stereo receiver without any additional “frills”, providing the sound of highest quality. This approach is also visible in a beautiful, simple design – a large glass black display with a green scale and a smaller silver front panel with simple tuning knobs.<\/p>\n

The classic series of 330 (330, 330A, 330B and 330C) receivers produced in 1968-1979 is the quintessence of the Harman Kardon design philosophy – a basic transistor stereo receiver without unnecessary “frills”, yet providing the highest quality of sound. This approach is also reflected in the beautiful, simple design – a large glass black display with a scale backlit in green and a smaller silver front panel with simple tuning knobs.<\/p>\n

The new enclosure made of Iroko exotic wood gives the set an elegant look, the potentiometers are in perfect condition. The device has been fully reviewed and serviced.<\/p>\n
